There is a reason that this is one interview that I look forward to doing every year. Founder and Head Raspberry of the Golden Raspberry Awards Foundation, John Wilson performs what I always term a valuable public service on behalf of the moviegoing public by skewering the purveyors of bad cinema in a very public, very funny way every year at the Razzies.
I spoke with Wilson by phone on March 4, 2003, less than three weeks before the Razzies were handed out. While we spent a respectable amount of time talking about the nominees, especially Madonna and her latest astonishingly failed attempt at movie stardom, SWEPT AWAY, we started the conversation with someone who was missing from the list of nominees for the first time since the 80s, Sylvester Stallone.
